A 42-year-old man was fatally struck by a southbound CTA Red Line train early this morning at the Cermak/Chinatown Station.

Authorities responded to a call around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday about an unresponsive man pinned under a train, according to ABC 7. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Service was temporarily halted halted between 35th and Grand while investigators worked to determine what happened to the man. It was restored just after 4:30 a.m., CTA officials said.

The Cook County medical examiner's office has not confirmed the man's death, according to Fox 32.
