Photos: The Stunning Beauty Of 'Chicagohenge'

If you combined the Fall Equinox, the stunning architecture of downtown Chicago, and the right vantage points last evening, then you were treated to a truly stunning sight.

The effect, dubbed "Chicagohenge," takes advantage of the city's buildings and streets lining up just right with the setting sun twice a year, causing the light to explode and splash through our artificial valleys. Our photographer took advantage of the rare phenomenon to snap some extraordinary photos for us to share with you.

And if you missed last night's glory, you'll have another chance to view something similar in a few months; the effect can also be viewed just before the spring equinox.
