The Chicago food scene has finally found a way to top the Langham Hotel's infamous $1,000 sundae. But would you spend $3,000 on a single chocolate truffle?

In honor of National Chocolate Day on Oct. 28, the All Chocolate Kitchen store in Geneva is offering a giant 4 lb. truffle made with grand cru Creole chocolate, filled with ganache and gilded with 24-karat gold dust. It comes with a bottle of Dom Perignon which helps us justify the price. And we have pastry chef and chocolate fan Alain Roby to thank.

Truffles must be pre-ordered and can be picked up at the shop. The shop will ship a limited quantity but shipping starts at $300.

You can read more about the gilded truffle on the Tribune's site.
