After a disastrous season, the White Sox fired bench coach Mark Parent, he confirmed to the Tribune.

Parent found out his contract wasn't being renewed following the Sox's loss to the Kansas City Royals last night. He's the first member of general manager Robin Ventura's staff to be let go but the blame for the team's failure can be passed around.

"I'm accountable for what I had to do," Parent told the Tribune. "I thought I did a pretty good job at this. If it wasn't enough, that's fine."

He declined to finish out the last three games of the regular season, according to ESPN.

Ventura has been widely criticized for unsuccessful roster changes and the third losing season in a row but as of now, he is expected to return in 2016 because of his contract, ESPN reported.

Parent joined Ventura's staff in 2012 following 13 seasons as a catcher and a stint as a minor league manager. He hopes to continue his baseball career despite the temporary setback.

"That's what I do," he said to the Tribune. "I retired [before]. Being retired was boring."
