Michael Moore's New Film To Premier In Midwest At Chicago's International Film Festival

Michael Moore's latest film, Where To Invade Next, will get its Midwest premiere at the 51st Chicago International Film Festival. The provocative documentary filmmaker is famous for creating inflammatory movies that often erupt in controversy, including Roger and Me, Bowling for Columbine, and Fahrenheit 9/11. The new Where To Invade Next is his first film in six years, and he's scheduled to personally appear at its Chicago premiere on Oct. 23.

According to the film's official synopsis: "Where To Invade Next is an expansive, rib-tickling, and subversive comedy in which Moore, playing the role of 'invader,' visits a host of nations to learn how the U.S. could improve its own prospects." That sounds like just the kind of premise that Moore's work thrives on. He's known for setting up absurd situations through which to lampoon conservative political viewpoints.

Where To Invade Next premieres on Oct. 23 at AMC River East, 322 E. Illinois St, 7 p.m., $17 for Cinema/Chicago members and $20 for non-members
