Stan's Donuts is one of the best of the new crop of fancy donut spots that have multiplied all over the city. I should know - I ate every single donut they make, and if I still like them after that, they must be good. That's why my ears perked up when I heard the words, "free donuts for life."
Stan's is opening a new store in Lakeview on Saturday, Oct. 10. The store opens at 6:30 a.m., but you're gonna want to get in line before that. Why? The first 100 people get prizes. Secret prizes. In sealed envelopes. In one of them is a card for free donuts for life. For life! You'd never have to work again—just eat donuts until you're in a sugar coma.
According to Redeye, the other prizes include "T-shirts, coffee mugs, coffee, doughnuts, gelato shakes and cones." Which isn't bad. But seriously, who wouldn't spend an hour in line for the chance of free donuts forever?
The new Stan's location is at 2800 N. Clark St.
