Take that, billy goat

Cubs fan Stephen Colbert is coming right out and saying it: I ain't afraid of no curse.

The Late Show host spent 11 formative years in Chicago, where he attended Northwestern University, got his start in comedy at Second City and ate far too many sausages. He says for far too long he has feared the curse that has afflicted the Cubs since Billy Goat Tavern owner Billy Sianis and his pet goat were booted out of a Cubs-Detroit Tigers World Series in 1945. After being kicked out, Sianis "cursed" the team (though Colbert points out that horrible management and an unwillingness to shell out for top-notch baseball talent seems to have cursed the team as well).

Last night Colbert tempted fate by kicking this adorable little guy out of the audience:

"You'll be sorry"

Colbert let the goat really have it:

"So many things I’ve been wanting to say about your kind for years, but I’ve been too scared of because of the curse. Not anymore. First off, your cheese sucks, OK? You can get the same flavor by leaving a brick of Philadelphia Cream Cheese to dry out. Secondly, nice beard. Soul patches went out in the '70s. What are you going to do about it, goats? Curse the Cubs again? I dare you. The Cubs are unstoppable."
