We've been skeptical about Chicago's reputation as a city for deep dish lovers—surveys show most Chicagoans prefer thin crust. But Chicago native Shonda Rhimes isn't like most people.

Rhimes gave an interview to Food & Wine about her food preferences, and it's worth a read. She says Olivia Pope's wine-and-popcorn habit on Scandal is "100 percent how I used to spend my nights." And we learn that she's obsessed with sidecars, she's good at baking apple pies and that her go-to recipe is Julia Child's roast chicken.
But her more #controversial statements are about pizza. Like Gwen Stefani, she's very pro-deep dish. So much so that she loathes thin crust. She tells the magazine:
"This is controversial, but I think thin-crust pizza is disgusting. On Christmas Eve, I have deep-dish pizza flown in from Chicago. I like Aurelio’s, which is a thinner crust but still Chicago-style."
