'Slutty Pumpkin' Is Illinois' Most Common Unique Halloween Costume Search

Illinois, we're disappointed in you.

'Slutty Pumpkin' is the state's most common unique Halloween costume Google search. That's compared to Indiana's much, much more respectable "tree" and Michigan's most popular unique search, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."

Idaho's top unique search is, perhaps predictably, "potato," and Wisconsin's is "beer."

The real estate website Estately tallied up 11 years of Google Trends data to reach these and more cliched conclusions, just in time for Halloween. Yes, Illinois is the pumpkin capital of the world, but we know we can do better than this, Chicago.

We asked our staff to tell us some of their favorite, Illinois-specific Halloween costume ideas:
