Airbnb users with an extra room to rent in Wrigleyville are making a killing during the playoffs this year.

Until the Cubs open their long-planned hotel next to the field, there aren't any hotels near the ballpark, so Airbnb room rentals are going for a lot of money, according to RedEye.

If you run a search to stay in Wrigleyville starting Tuesday night and checking out on Friday on the online home sharing site, you'll find a variety of places to stay running from $50 to $900 a night, and almost all emphasize their close proximity to the ballpark. The average price is $285 a night.

Thanks to the playoff run, there are twice as many Airbnb bookings in Wrigleyville this year compared to last year, an Airbnb spokeswoman told RedEye.
