Give your sweet tooth a jump start on the holiday season this weekend with an epic, afternoon-long dessert crawl in Andersonville.

The Far North Side candy crawl begins at the Swedish American Museum (5211 N. Clark St.) From there, participants can hit up 20 local restaurants and shops, including the Wooden Spoon, Kopi Cafe and La Colombe via two separate routes.

Organizers are touting the event for being zero-waste and raising money for Care for Real, a community food bank in nearby Edgewater.

Tickets are $25 in advance per route, and include a tasty treat from each participating restaurant on the route.

The "Candy Corn" route hits up First Slice Pie Cafe for Apple Streusel Pie Bites, George's Ice Cream and Sweets for Zanzibar Chocolate ice cream and Jerry's for seasonal bread pudding. The "Caramel Apple" route makes stops at the just-opened Cantina 1910 for stuffed concha, Noodle Zone for a Thai sweet banana dessert, and the Swedish Bakery for an assortment of cookies. See the complete list from the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce.
