Get Excited, The Millennium Park Ice Rink Opens Soon

Time to dust off your ice skates—the McCormick Tribune Ice Rink at Millennium Park will open for the season on Friday, Nov. 13. The rink will be open through March 6, 2016. Skating is free, but renting a pair of skates will cost $12.
Regular hours will be from noon to 8 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays, noon to 10 p.m. on Fridays, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays.
The rink has drawn on average more than 100,000 visitors annually over the last 14 years, according to the city. Not sure you can cut it on the ice? The city is offering free skating lessons one hour before the rink opens on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The rink will also be open on holidays—specifically, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Black Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Christmas Day and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. everyday from Saturday, Dec. 26 to Wednesday, Dec. 20 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. On New Year’s Eve, the rink will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
In 2016, holiday hours include from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on New Year’s Day, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, January 18 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day), 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, February 5 (School Improvement Day) and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 15 (President’s Day).
