The Wanda Vista Tower is set to be one of the tallest skyscrapers in Chicago at 1,144 feet, and it's been reintroduced to the Lakeshore East community with a few design changes and new amenities.

At a public meeting Monday night, Ald. Brendan Reilly (42nd Ward) said that many of the changes came from suggestions given during the first meeting in April, according to Curbed. The Jeanne Gang-designed tower has the potential to become the city's third-tallest but Magellan is not asking for more density and they want to combine two parcels and increase the height while decreasing back the height on other.

The building's developer, Magellan, promised that the building will offers benefits for the neighborhood and the city.

The building will feature 406 residences (which are supposed to be double the size of most condos in Lakeshore East), 205 hotel rooms, 346 parking spaces and a 5,400 square foot ballroom. There will also be nice features for the public: a sculpture by entrance, connections to the Lakeshore East pedway system and the Lakefront Trail.

Another public benefit they're boasting about: a spa and restaurants, because there aren't already plenty of those downtown.

Curbed has an exclusive set of stunning new renderings of views from and around the tower up on their site.
