A suburban man has been accused of attacking a CTA train operator at the Clark and Lake CTA Blue Line station Sunday evening.

The train operator, a 43-year-old woman, pulled a Blue Line train into the Loop station when the man, 26-year-old Braulio Portes, allegedly jumped through the open window of her train car and began punching and kicking her. Portes was grabbed and subdued by CTA riders on the platform with him, according to police, and was then arrestd by police officers.

The train operator was treated at Northwestern Hospital and is in stable condition, according to police, and Portes, of Des Plaines, was charged with one felony count of aggravated battery to a transit employee. He is expected to be arraigned in Central Bond Court Tuesday.
