There was traffic chaos in the Loop this morning after the DuSable bridge over the river at Michigan Avenue was stuck open for over an hour because of an electrical problem.
The bridge was lifted about 10:10 a.m. for a regularly scheduled boat lift but the south leaf but it got stuck when crews tried to lower the bridge about 10:30 a.m., Chicago Department of Transportation spokesman Mike Claffey told the Tribune.
The issues were resolved just before noon, the bridge was lowered and traffic resumed. Some CTA buses that were temporarily rerouted around from the bridge resumed normal service shortly after noon:
The temporary reroute of 3, 146, 147, 151, and 157 buses near Michigan/Wacker has ended.
