It's rare that a subject line of an email catches our eye anymore, but when something pops into your inbox entitled "Tidal Wave of Au Jus Approaches Bridgeport," the imagery alone compels you to click. Turns out that a group of Bridgeport restaurants are sick and tired of being left off of lists when it comes to who serves the best Italian beef. They've have decided to host an epic fight to determine, once and for all, who is the best of the jus-y best.

This "beef battle," on Saturday, Nov. 14 from 3 to 5:30 p.m., will feature eight different Italian beefs fighting for supremacy. The contenders include Phil’s Pizza, Ricobene’s, Soluris, Johnny O’s, Kathey De’s, Fabulous Freddies Italian Eatery and a few more, and one of the judges is former Chicagoist Editor in Chief Chuck Sudo. Tickets are on sale now.

For just $35, you get tastes of all eight beefs and complimentary beverages by Marz Brewing. Proceeds will be donated to the Public Media Institute, the organization behind WLPN 105.5 FM.
