Photos: Last Night’s Spectacular Lightning Show

A storm system rolled through the Chicago area Wednesday night, bringing rain and high gusts of win and leaving some damage in its wake.
The area is still under a wind advisory warning—with gusts over 50 miles per hour predicted—Thursday even as the storms diminish. Some suburban homes experienced extensive rain, wind and lightning damage, according to ABC7. The storm also caused flight delays and cancellations at O'Hare and Midway airports.
In response to the predictions and reports that debris had been kicked up by the wind and struck two semi trucks, Chicago police shut down some of the Skyway on Thursday morning from 91st Street to 106th Street.
