A 20-year-old man has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman as she exited the CTA Red Line in the Loop this weekend, police say.

Jason Hook of Bellwood has been charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault, according to a release from the Chicago Police Department.

The incident occurred at 3 a.m. on Saturday after the 31-year-old victim exited the CTA Redline stop at Harrison and State. Police say Hooks followed the woman, hit her with a blunt object and dragged her to a secluded area where he sexually assaulted her.

The Chicago Tribune reports that he also took the woman's purse before fleeing. The woman was taken to Mercy Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

Hooks is expected to appear in court Monday.
