Brown Line Derails Just In Time For The Morning Commute

The CTA Brown Line had a rough morning after a derailment in a train yard on the Northwest Side.
The derailment happened at the Brown Line Kimball stop around 7:10 a.m., according to the Tribune. An engineer on board suffered minor injuries, and he was hospitalized in fair condition. No passengers were on the train.
Service was suspended between the Kimball and Irving Park stops, and the CTA offered shuttle buses. The Western Station looked pretty packed. Transit officials suggested using 49 Western, 50 Damen, 77 Belmont, and 81 Lawrence buses, according to WGN. As of an hour ago, service was partially resumed:
Brown Line service partially resumed, remains suspended between Kimball & Western due to a derailment.

There was confusion:
"We're sorry for the delay, but, uh, there's a delay" Very descriptive. @cta @TheBrownLine

"Hilarious" brown line this AM- @cta kept shuffling us between the N and S platforms at Irving Park, not knowing what leads where. @CTAFails

But it looked bad:
CTA brown line shut down. I'm no expert, but that looks bad... #cta #wgnnews pic.twitter.com/nBAnNX16yt

There was a silver lining for some commuters (or at least one!):
@TheBrownLine derailment today, so I took bus to red line, now I'm 30 mins early to court. So used to the brown line making me late @cta
