Photos: Because It's Never Too Early For Dibs

It's beginning to look a lot like dibs season.

The photo above was taken in Bridgeport this week, the site of some dark dibs revenge last year. A snowstorm is forecasted to hit the city, and so it kinda looks like someone is calling dibs before they have even so much as retrieved their snow shovel out of storage.

The redditor Lundah told Chicagoist, "Spotted this on Parnell just south of 35th Street while walking to pick up my lunch. I have no idea if this was at all related to the forecasted snow, year-round 'dibs' seems to be a thing in this neighborhood, several houses nearby have cones and other implements of dibs kept in a handy spot."

More than likely, these off-season dibs are for someone moving or holding a space for some reason not related to weather. But this isn't the only pre-snow dibs sighting around town.

It's happening already

It looks like this won't be the year Chicago goes chair-free.
