Looks like Riot Fest is staying put in their new home for 2016. The three-day music fest made a contentious move out of Humboldt Park at the behest of the local alderman and oppositional community groups earlier this year. They relocated to Douglas Park this summer, and their initial run in the West Side venue seems to have worked out all around. Organizers announced that the festival's Chicago dates will return them to Douglas next year on Sept. 16 to 18.

Festival organizers are holding their annual turkey drive in their new home this year. On Monday organizers teamed up to distribute 600 turkeys to area families in need with the help of 12th Ward Alderman George A. Cardenas, Apoyo Medico Legal, Viva Entertainment and several other local businesses. The turkey drive previously took place in the 26th ward, where Riot Fest organizers made a habit of community involvement and charity.

Riot Fest also announced that early bird tickets for the Chicago shows will go on sale today at 11 a.m., with a limited number of three-day passes available, starting at $99.98. This year also sees the return of Karma Cash, the Riot Fest program that helps offset the price of admission in exchange for community service.
