Don't Worry, Bucktown's Beloved Danny's Tavern Isn't Closing

We were among those totally freaking out at the prospect of longtime Bucktown / Wicker Park nightlife staple being forced to shutter it's doors by a new landlord.

Despair no more, the tide has turned—Danny's is staying open.

Co-owner Terry Alexander told Chicago Mag in an email update:

Fortunately our landlord has reached back out to us in response to all of the petitions, blogs, articles in magazines, and stories on the internet, and we’re currently working towards signing another lease and repairing the roof that is quickly deteriorating.

So breathe easy Chicago, the waves of gentrification broke upon the shore and this particular sand castle remains standing.
