Police are asking Wicker Park residents to look out for a group of burglars targeting high-end clothing stores.

They've broken into at least two stores in the 1700 block of North Damen Avenue. in the early morning hours of Nov. 21 and Dec. 3, police announced in a statement.

The offenders forced their way into the stores and stole a large quantity of merchandise along with a cash register. Then the burglars may have fled the scene in a rental truck, possibly a U-Haul.

Both of the burglaries were captured on surveillance footage.

They appear to be seven to eight males of unknown race wearing wear face masks, hooded sweatshirts or jackets, gloves and jeans, according to authorities. In one incident, one of the offenders appeared to be a black male.

Law enforcement is asking nearby residents to report any suspicious activity, be on the lookout for suspicious vehicles, pay special attention to loitering and be aware of the crimes and alert their neighbors.
