Social media was abuzz late last night, as an extra-alarm fire broke out in Avondale. Why the commotion? Well, aside from the understandable worry about a massive fire, some were concerned that Metropolis Coffee's main facility was the building on fire.
The fire broke out around 7:45 p.m., according to the Tribune, and consumed a warehouse in the 3000 block of Rockwell. DNAinfo reported (before later correcting) that the Metropolis roasting facility was on fire.

Lots of fans were concerned, but luckily, though the fire was next door, it didn't reach the new 18,000 square for roasting facility.
For all who have messaged about the massive fire on Rockwell-it is not our Roasterie. It seems to be the building in front of our roasterie

The Tribune reported that Metropolis owner Tony Dreyfuss watched the fire, concerned for his property, but that there doesn't seem to be any damage. No one was hurt in the warehouse fire, which was put out around 10 p.m.
