Chicago police are warning Lakeview residents about a rash of burglaries that have been reported this month around the North Side neighborhood.

In each of the burglaries, an unknown number of burglars entered the homes by forcing open their back doors or opening unlocked windows, according to a police alert.

The burglaries were reported on Dec. 10 sometime during the day in the 800 block of West Roscoe Street, overnight from Dec. 11 to 12 in the 900 block of West Roscoe Street, and Dec. 16 after 11 a.m. in the 800 block of West Newport Avenue and Dec. 17 after 8:45 p.m. in the 900 block of West Newport Avenue.

Witnesses to the Dec. 17 burglary said the burglars were black men wearing a gray hoodie and gray hat and a dark blue jacket.
