Sometimes, it takes so long for a restaurant to open that we forget that it was ever announced. Sadly, that kind of happened with The Northman, the cider-focused bar in North Center that was first announced back in January of 2014. Well, according to Chicago Magazine, there is finally an opening date.

A new profile on the Northman says that it's going to open in February. It'll boast more than 100 kinds of cider, including some local and some from very far away. The spot is from the team behind Fountainhead, so you can expect food from Chef Cleetus Friedman. He's created a menu of English and French food meant to pair with the drinks, with a heavy emphasis on local ingredients.

We'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one as it gets closer to opening.
