On Wednesday, two Illinois residents won $1 million, each, in last night's Powerball drawing. The jackpot was $1.5 billion—"the largest, single prize lottery jackpot in world history," according to lottery officials.

Both Illinois winners had Powerball tickets with the five winning numbers, but not the Powerball number.

The two winning tickets were purchased at the Citgo Food Mart on Greenwood Road in Glenview and at the Newstand at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, lottery officials say. Overall, there were 893,220 winners in Illinois ranging from $4 prizes to the pair of $1 million winners.

Three jackpot-winning tickets were also revealed on Wednesday. One was sold in California, another in Tennessee, and a third in Florida.

The Powerball jackpot has now been reset to its base level: $40 million. It was last reset on Nov. 4.
