Activists rallied in front of Mayor Rahm Emanuel's Ravenswood home this weekend to demand reforms to the way the city spends a special pool of money known as Tax Increment Financing.
The protesters, who numbered about 50, marched from Uptown to Rahm's home this time specifically to protest plans to give $16 million in TIF money to developers planning a new high rise in Uptown at the site of a former hospital on Montrose Avenue. And like most protests of City Hall policies lately, some protesters carried signs calling for Rahm's resignation in the wake of several police misconduct scandals.
