University of Illinois at Chicago officials are warning students of a beating and robbery report on campus.

Officials issued an alert early Tuesday after they received reports of a 28-year-old man being beaten and robbed by four men wearing black in the 1200 block of South Morgan Street, just south of Roosevelt Road. The man was robbed of both his money and his pants, and was not a UIC student.

Freshman at UIC Nina Tang told CBS 2, "I think this could kind of happen anywhere in the city, so I think just to have good habits, and travel in groups, and not go out too late, I think that would be the best."

ABC 7 reported that the man was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
