In a bold attempt to shore up African-American support for her campaign, Hillary Clinton has enlisted Geneva Reed-Veal, the mother of Sandra Bland, to appear at a Bronzeville rally with her Wednesday. Bland, a Naperville resident, was found dead in a Texas jail cell after being pulled over for a mere traffic violation.
As CBS News notes, this is a recurring strategy for Clinton; she will appear at campaign events in South Carolina with the mothers of Eric Garner, Dontre Hamilton, and Jordan Davis in coming weeks.
Her rival, Bernie Sanders, will also be in Chicago Wednesday, opening up a campaign office in the South Loop.
