It's a cold, grey day, and what's the best thing for a cold grey day? If you answered chili, then you have a real treat in store, as the city of San Antonio is in town and they brought free chili.

If that sounds a little odd to you, we agree—when was the last time a strange city gave you free food? It sounds like something your mother warned you against in elementary school. Well, it's all part of a campaign to encourage Chicago to San Antonio tourism (which, given the weather, actually sounds pretty great right now).

From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the corner of Adams and Wacker, the Tamale Spaceship truck will be handing out free chili. No strings, just free deliciousness. Even better, if you're a history nerd, it's the same recipe that San Antonio brought to Chicago in 1893 to serve at the World's Columbian Exposition.

Go get some chili!
