The 11th annual CHIditaord—a cross between a costume competition, a shopping cart race and a food drive—breezed through West Town Saturday afternoon. The race kicked-off at the intersection of Hubbard and Wolcott streets at about 12:30 p.m.
We sent a photographer to check out the insanely quirky costumes and general commotion. Santa was in attendance, along with his reindeer and an assortment of elves; Left Shark and a shopping cart decked-out like the CTA were there too. The creative teams had a blast while benefiting the Greater Chicago Food Depository. In the past, CHIditarod has raised over 134,000 pounds of food and over $145,000 for local nonprofits.
