Video: Sinead O'Connor Sings Thrilling David Bowie Tribute At Metro

Sons Of The Silent Age— a local supergroup counting Chris Connelly (The Revolting Cocks, Ministry) and Matt Walker (Filter, Smashing Pumpkins, Garbage) as members—performed a David Bowie tribute at Metro on Friday. One of Bowie's actual backing singers, Ava Cherry, was listed ahead of time as a special guest so we suspected there might be a few other surprises in store. However we never would have guessed Sinead O'Connor would make a surprise appearance to cover Bowie's "Life On Mars" and "Sorrow," a tune Bowie himself covered for his Pin Ups album.

We knew this show would be special, but we didn't expect this.
