Seven months after opening their first location outside of New York in the Gold Coast neighborhood, gyro shop chain Halal Guys is expanding again. They're set to open a second location in the Loop at Wabash Avenue and Randolph Street, which includes a side café called Bean & Leaf serving Stumptown Coffee.

"We wanted to not only cater to the working crowd in the Loop but also to the residents in the area," franchise partners Steven Chong and Vincent Tan said in a statement. "Our location will be here whether you are looking for a late night combo platter or coffee/dessert," noting that there are currently few Loops options to "hang low with your friends."

As a former South Loop resident during college, I can personally confirm the latter part of their statement. The second Chicago Halal Guys is set to open this summer.
