Here Are Plans For The Floating Vegas-Style Party Barge On Lake Michigan

We haven't heard too much about the proposal to bring a little bit of Vegas to Lake Michigan, since there was a Kickstarter for it in 2014. In case you need a refresher, Breakwater Chicago wants to set up a massive floating barge just off the coast where you can take in the skyline and party, and go shopping and party, and sit by the side of the pool and party. (At least one alderman isn't crazy about the idea of mixing drinking and boats.)

But the company has released some new renderings of the project. What does this mean? Basically, the company just wants to remind us they haven't gone away (and that there is something on the way for the 715 people gave over $60K to the Kickstarter).

"We just wanted to remind folks that we're still working hard to bring Breakwater Chicago to fruition," a PR rep told Curbed Chicago. "We've had our heads down working through design and engineering for a while now, but things continue to move along nicely."

The renderings show the leisure class reclining by the pool or chatting with the space age decks looming in the background. We included a few of the old ones, too, in case you need a refresher, and here's a video touting the project as eco-friendly and world class.
