Eddie Acevedo Jr. was not happy his brother Alex didn’t win the Tuesday election for 2nd District Senate Representative.

Alex Acevedo, who was running to replace his father Eddie Acevedo, Sr., who is retiring from the Illinois House of Representatives after serving 20 years, lost to Theresa Mah on Tuesday by 500 votes. Acevedo Jr. apparently didn’t take his brother's loss well, and took it out on Ald. Danny Solis (25th) that evening, according to the alderman.

“We lost the election because of your bitch ass, motherfucker,” Acevedo Jr. says in an expletive laden voicemail sent to Solis that was sent to Mark Brown at the Sun-Times. “You’ve been fucking our family over for years...fuck you motherfucker, you fucked up this election, and you can deal with me motherfucker,” he says.

Solis endorsed Acevedo, and helped him win his ward, but by slim margins. Solis told Brown that three calls and a text all came in from the same number. “My wife got really upset,” he said. “She said he sounds really crazy.”

Shortly after Brown phoned the number on Solis’s caller ID, the elder Acevedo got back to him to “convey a message.”

“I can tell you secrets about Danny that you would freak out on. Tell Danny he should be the last one to talk.”

Though it might just be late night post-election bluster, at the end of the call Acevedo says “when I see you, it’s motherfuckin’ on...you take this message as it is.” Solis, who filed a police report, said “I don’t think it means he wants to debate me.”
