Work Out With Beer Kegs And Grain Bags With Goose Island Brewery

"Ever wonder how brewers get those svelte figures?" the Eventbrite page for a Goose Island-hosted workout asks, rhetorically.
Yes—beloved local brewer Goose Island, already known for their 312, is now breaking into the lifestyle game, hosting a free fitness class on March 28 at the West Loop Athletic Club. Titled the Brewers Workout, it's part of their Migration Week, a lineup of Goose Island-hosted events running from March 28 to April 1.
The workout is modeled after the day in the life of a brewer (which is, based on the preview video above, not unlike a day in Sparta). It will incorporate kegs, barrels and grain bags, according to its Eventbrite page. If the video is any indication, participants will squat kegs, run around with industrial-sized bags of grain on their shoulders and also scream-groan a lot. Chicago Athletic Club instructors will teach the class, which runs from 6 to 7 p.m. and will be followed by beer, like any workout worth its salt. Register here.
