Shooting At Chatham Club Leaves One Dead, Two Wounded

A fight at a Chatham sports bar and club erupted into gun violence Thursday night, leaving one man dead, and another wounded; and a woman who tried to flee the club was hit by a car. The police have a person in custody, authorities told Chicagoist.
The fight escalated around 1:40 a.m. at the 50 Yard Line Sports Bar & Grill at 69 E. 75th St. As the argument heated up, someone pulled out a gun and began shooting. according to authorities. A 29-year-old man was shot in the abdomen. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead. A 32-year-old man was shot repeatedly in the leg; he remains at Stroger in serious condition, police said.
After the fight, the shooter reportedly left the club in a car. A 26-year-old woman who had been inside the club tried to run away, but was hit by a car as she crossed the street. Police believe the car that struck the woman belonged to the shooter. She is also at Stroger, where her condition has stabilized.
