Restaurant Week is long since over, which means our number-crunching migraine has finally passed. But now spring restaurant bargains are on their way, since Chicago Chef Week is rapidly approaching.
What's Chicago Chef Week? It's similar to Restaurant Week, in that a whole bunch of restaurants run fixed-price deals. It's slightly different in that, instead of two dinner price options ($33 and $44), there's just a $44 choice. And a $22 lunch. Yes, like Restaurant Week.
The really big difference? It's a somewhat different set of restaurants, and there are some great spots that don't participate in Restaurant Week that are all in for Chicago Chef Week. We have a list below, including acclaimed spots like North Pond, Taus Authentic, Dusek's, Momotaro, Dos Urban Cantina, Lula Cafe, Gather and more that are unique to this special week. Plus, fewer people know about it (it's not quite as much of a cultural phenomenon) so getting reservations is easier.
As always, make sure the deal you're getting is actually a deal! Many of the menus for Chicago Chef Week are already online, and you should check before you go.
