Founders Brewing Is Hosting A Whirlyball Party For Their New Stout

This is no joke. On April 1, Founders Brewing Co. is throwing down the gauntlet, and hosting a release party for their 2016 Kentucky Breakfast Stout at WhirlyBall (1825 W. Webster Ave.). Happening between 7 and 10 p.m., the brewery is not only sharing 2016 KBS, but also the 2015 and 2014 versions. Scheduled to appear at different times, KBS 2016 will be served at 8 p.m., 2015 at 8:30 p.m., and 2014 at 9 p.m. Alongside the beer, WhirlyBall will have chicken and waffles sliders on deck, paired with a breakfast stout-infused syrup.

For those who don’t know, WhirlyBall is like motorized lacrosse, the closest thing to live action Mario Kart. Players drive around in bumper cars, in teams of 5, trying to fling a whiffle ball through a target with a hand-held scoop. Teams can take on Team Founders, the aforementioned gauntlet above, in complimentary games of WhirlyBall for a prize. That prize? Founders pint glasses! But that isn’t the ultimate prize. Players can enter a raffle to win a tour of the Founder Brewery in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This treasure also includes a free hotel stay, $50 gas card, and a $50 taproom card.

To enter the raffle, all a player has to do is RSVP for the event. There is no cover. Only the beer costs money. And you must be 21 or older. Oh, and when a player RSVP’s, they automatically are given the chance to win a $50 WhirlyBall card.
