Video: Key & Peele Hung Out With Cats At A Chicago Animal Shelter Today

Comedy Central's Key & Peele ended in 2015, but comedians Jordan Peele and Michael-Keegan Key are still working together (because if they stopped comedy worldwide would grind to a halt).
Their latest effort, comedic action film Keanu, is out April 29—and as part of their promotional tour for the movie, they stopped by Chicago's Tree House Humane Society and filmed a Facebook video with fluffy, adoptable cats.
This isn't the random string of nouns it seems like at first pass. Keanu is about a man's quest to rescue his kitten, who is named Keanu, from a gang that abducted her. (Peele plays the kitten's owner; Key plays Peele's friend and partner in cat-recovery.) So it makes sense for them to visit an animal shelter for promo—especially the city's first no-kill shelter, which is scheduled to open Chicago's first cat cafe this summer. (According to Key, it's also the first no-kill shelter in the country.)
In the video, the duo appears with fellow Keanu star Jason Mitchell, promoting adopting adult cats. "Adopt grown cats," Key says. "They need houses too."
"Kittens are cute, but cats are ex-kittens," Peele adds. Per what this video is, they hype their movie along with kitten adoption. Keanu will Nia Long, Method Man and Will Forte, among others. (Also: strippers.)
It's worth watching, if only because Peele sings a few bars of Sarah McLachlan. You can also watch the preview for Keanu, if you haven't seen it already, below.
