Chicago Gourmet is a ton of fun, and it seems to get more interesting every year. It's the biggest and best food festival in Chicago, and, if you set an alarm on your phone and start refreshing your web browser, you might be able to score some discounted tickets.

This year's Chicago Gourmet takes place from September 23 to 25, with the big action on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are normally $185 per day or $295 for a weekend pass. But tomorrow, starting at 10 a.m., "pre-sale" tickets go on sale. These special tickets only cost $148 per day or $250 for a Weekend Pass—a pretty hefty discount.

These days, Chicago Gourmet generally sells out or comes very close to it, so you won't find a ton of discounted tickets close to the time of the event. If you're a fan of Chicago Gourmet or you've definitely decided to try it, buy those tickets now and save a little money. We don't know how many pre-sale tickets there are, but we have been told that once they run out, tickets will be available at the normal price going forward.

What's new at Chicago Gourmet this year? First of all, there's a theme: Food is Art. This means that there's a ton of art and theater pieces tied in, and the event has partnered with EXPO Chicago and the Art Institute. We're looking forward to see what comes out of this partnership. Plus, Rick Bayless is the "host chef" for the whole weekend, so if you're a Bayless fan, that's one more reason to buy a ticket.

Set those alarms now! Also, check out our recap of last year's Chicago Gourmet.
