Fans of Momofuku can now get a taste of their beloved restaurant empire without buying a plane ticket to New York, as Momofuku takes over avec for brunch on May 1!

Chefs from Momofuku's Ssäm Bar and Má Pêche will be taking over the West Loop spot from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 1. The menu for the takeover will be a combination of dishes from the menus of Ssäm Bar and Má Pêche, along with some special dishes created just for this team-up.

If you're willing to put down some cash and reserve in advance, there are also a few reservations available for a "Bo Ssäm" menu. This includes slow cooked pork shoulder, a dozen oysters, and two bowls each of white rice, bibb lettuce, Korean-style barbecue sauce, kimchi and ginger scallion sauce. The family style menu serves 7 to 10 people, and costs $250 per party - which means if you get 10 people together for brunch, you can actually get a pretty good bargain. Email info@avecrestaurant.com to make reservations.

This is just one of many, many special dinners that are slowly being announced to celebrate the James Beard Awards, which will be in Chicago on May 2. Tons of great chefs from around the country will be in town, so there will be special dinners and pop-ups galore. However, even with that kind of competition, we suspect there will be lines out the door for this particular takeover.
