The fast-paced construction going on at 215 W. Lake St., where a 33-story, 265-unit rental tower is being erected, has produced its first glimpse of something beautiful. Here's a time-lapse video that makes the task of building a massive, stories-high crane look like child's play:

Curbed Chicago reported that the historic post-fire Osborne & Adams Leather Co. was demolished in a matter of weeks to make way for the high-rise. The high-speed video conveys the sense of urgency that seems to be characterize the whole process. Now if only Chicago traffic could go by as quickly as it does in the video.
