One dead man and one living man were pulled from the Chicago River this morning, authorities said.

The Chicago Police Department Marine Unit pulled a dead man's body from the Chicago River near Columbus Drive just after 10:37 a.m. Tuesday, police said. Earlier Tuesday morning, at roughly 5:30 a.m., the CPD Marine Unit and the Chicago Fire Department rescued a man "standing in waist-deep water" below the Webster Avenue Bridge.

The unidentified dead male of unknown age (but "appearing to be an adult") was removed from the river in the 300 block of North Columbus Drive, police said. Area Central detectives are investigating.

The living man, who looked to be in his 50s, was rescued from the river with "no visible injuries," though a police spokesperson told Chicagoist that "he might have jumped from the bridge." The man was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center for evaluation.
