New Dick Wolf Show Is Getting A Sneaky Pilot In Tonight's 'Chicago P.D.' Episode

Those Hollywood big wigs just can’t get enough of the Windy City. Wednesday night, Law and Order kingpin Dick Wolf and his band of TV-makers at NBC will introduce viewers to a fourth Chicago-set drama. Chicago Justice joins Wolf's Chicago-dominated lineup of Chicago Fire, Chicago Med and Chicago P.D. as a law-heavy storyline in tonight’s P.D. episode, FanSided reports, but if things go as well as they have been for the other shows, the plan is to make it its own series.

Justice’s characters, which include small screen vets Philip Winchester, Carl Weathers, and original Law and Order actress Lorraine Toussaint reprising her L and O role, make their debut in the episode (named, obviously, “Justice”) as a legal team dealing with P.D. character Kim Burgess. Toussaint’s Law and Order cred suggests Wolf and his fellow showrunners will keep up their crossover habits with Law and Order: SVU and other Chicago programs.

After premiering in 2012, Chicago Fire ignited a, well, firestorm of TV shoots in our city, eventually spinning off into P.D., Med and now, probably, Justice. It also brought jobs, Lady Gaga sightings, revenue and some sweet special effects for us non-TV stars to gawk at on our lunch hour. There’s even buzz about a fifth franchise—though it’s anybody’s guess what that could be.
