Ipsento Coffee has been teasing its new location adjacent to The 606, at 1813 N. Milwaukee Ave., for a while now, promising coffee, cocktails and donuts. We've learned now that the new location will be opening on Memorial Day with a special donut deal.
The donuts themselves (which sound delicious) were teased on Facebook Thursday, and described as "Small batch, hand made doughnuts, crafted with sweet potato and house milled Kamut." Kamut, by the way, is an ancient grain related to wheat that is known for having a nutty flavor.
Ipsento Director of Operations Ian Bruns told Chicagoist, the opening day of Monday is solid. "We’ve passed our final inspections, so all systems are go and it looks like soft opening for Monday." Good weather + holiday + donuts on the 606 sounds like a pretty great Memorial Day.
Want a preview of the treats? According to Facebook, Ipsento is offering a donut preview today, so if you stop by their original location, they'll be serving some of these delicious new treats.
Bruns describes the delicious new donuts as "mini cake donuts," which are the most dangerous form of donuts. The chances that we won't have a half dozen in our hands by the end of next week are very slim.
The new location, in addition to donuts, will serve sweets in the morning and cheese, charcuterie, craft beer and cocktails at night.
