Vista Tower Has Already Sold $200 Million Of Glam AF Condos

Construction hasn't even started on the Vista Tower, soon to be the third tallest building in Chicago, but that hasn't stopped the condos in the as-yet-theoretical building from selling like wildfire. So far, Vista has sold $200 million in condos since a "soft opening" last fall, a spokesperson for Magellan Development Group told Chicagoist.

So far, Magellan executive VP Sean Linnane said that 80+ condos have sold, most of them to Chicagoans. Plenty of the buyers, though, hail from overseas. Vista is a joint project, a collaboration between Magellan and China's Dalian Wanda Group. The latter group "does mainland China sales," Linnane said; meanwhile, a third party broker handles sales in Southeast Asia, in countries such as Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malaysia.

Construction will begin this summer on Vista, the undulating, Jeanne Gang-designed tower slated for the downtown, just where the Chicago River meets Lake Michigan. Recent renderings show floor-to-ceiling windows, wood floors, and incredible views of the city in the tower (a $1 billion project, according to Curbed). Unit prices range, unsurprisingly, from $1 million to $18 million.
