Shake Shack has boasted long lines at its two Chicago locations (in River North and in the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel in the Loop) since they first came to the city, and it looks like their expansion isn't going to stop anytime soon.

The Tribune interviewed Randy Garutti, the CEO of Shake Shack, about his expansion plans. Shake Shack currently has almost 100 location, and they want to have 450 stores in the U.S.

What does this mean for Chicago? He didn't give any exact details, but he did indicate that more was coming.

"We're going to keep growing in the Chicago area. We're looking at other sites in downtown, we're looking at sites in the suburbs and I think we've got a great opportunity to keep growing. But over time, and carefully as we usually do; not too many at once."

He also mentioned that Shake Shack planned to target Chicago's "urban core." No matter where they locate in that urban core, chances are they will be successful.
