Video: Stephen Colbert Scarfs Down Absurdly Pricey Chicago Popcorn

Stephen Colbert apparently has a literal taste for the finer things. The late-night host with local comic roots was joined on Friday night's episode of The Late Show by Georgia rapper 2 Chainz. The hip-hop artist brought with him a bucket of the infamous Billion Dollar Popcorn, produced by Chicago-based Berco's.

Believed to be the most expensive popcorn in the world, the caramel corn is sprinkled with Danish salt and edible, 23-karat edible gold flake. It costs $5 per kernel, 2 Chainz said. The largest option, a 6.5-gallon tin, is listed on Berco's website for $2,500.

Naturally, Colbert scarfs down a mammoth handful.

"That's like $65 worth of popcorn right there," 2 Chainz informed, unflappable as ever. "It's the crack of Cracker Jack," Colbert noted.

2 Chainz was promoting the latest season of his show, Most Expensivest Shit, which airs on the GQ.com video channel—the perfect vehicle, really, for a man who famously sang of his wish to be buried in a Gucci store.
